I have an 8.5 degree driver. Last Year i could hit those nice low trajectory, slight draw shots for 270-280 yards consistantly. Now I started off this season struggling with my driver. I’m hitting it a mile high, i’m fading the ball alot, have no control, and i can’t hit a drive over 230-240 yards.Does anyone have any tips to hit those low liners with a slight draw.

Its sounds to me like you may have changed the position of the ball in your stance. Try moving it back a hair at a time and see if that helps. If not the other option may be that you are now coming more outside on your take away. Have a friend stand behind you stop your swing at the top and see where the shaft is pointing. Hope it helps.

Your line up to the ball may be different an easy fix is lining the ball up deeper in your stance (more toward you back foot). You could have also changed your swing speed. try swing easier and the ball may go farther. the harder you swing, the more spin gets put on the ball and this may cause the ball to climb higher. As for the fade, you may be leaving your weight on your back foot hence leaving the club face open. I hope at least some of this will help.

Sounds like you are leaving the clubface open at impact. Try closing your stance a tad (if right-handed, left foot slightly forward; if left-handed, right foot forward). Also, try moving the ball back in your stance.

Could also be your grip. If right-handed, try rotating your right hand just a tad over, so you see more of the back of your hand at address. This will help achieve a stronger grip, helping get your hands through the swing a little easier.

I would check two things. One, you may have a narrower take-away early in the season. Make sure you stay extended on your take-away, think “high hands” at the top of the back-swing. Two, make sure you take the club back “on plane”. Take your driver straight back and slightly inside. If you pick the driver up outside the plane you will hit the high right shot. If you hav access to a scratch golfer, let them look at your swing plane. You may not think you are doing this, but it only takes a little, and can be hard to tell yourself.

Well for sure you are teeing the all to low.. With and degree of driver 10 and below the ball should be teed 1/2 ball above the top of the driver… 8.5 driver is soposed to have a low tragectory. You are probably swinging different.. Try this… After teeing the ball sweep back on your back swing till you feel a restriction and your foward arm is stiff. Sweep back the same way following through till you feel the same restriction.. You do not have to swing as hard at a golf ball as you playing baseball. A smooth basic swing and follow through is good enoug… Go to the driving range and hit off the grass (the mats are no judge of a good swing etc) Or take a driving lesson from a pro and I am sure he can square you away;;;. Good luck and have a good golf year Grant In Pennsylvania
